The 2027 BYD Dolphin Surf builds on the success of the original Dolphin Surf with upgraded electric power, extended range, and enhanced tech features while maintaining its compact urban-friendly design. The refreshed hatchback continues as a 5-door, 4-seat electric vehicle ideal for city commuting and short highway trips.
Power comes from a front-mounted permanent magnet motor available in multiple tunes, with the base version upgraded to around 75 kW (~102 hp) and the top trim boosted to approximately 120 kW (~161 hp) for brisk acceleration and responsive city performance. The updated battery options — now larger than before — support competitive WLTP ranges up to around 340–360 km on a single charge, while fast charging up to ~90–100 kW lets the battery go from roughly 10% to 80% in about 25–30 minutes.
