The 2027 Rivian R3 is expected to be the automaker's most affordable electric SUV yet, slotting in below the R2.  It will be a subcompact SUV that shares a platform with the R2 but with a five-inch shorter wheelbase. There will also be a more off-road-focused variant called the R3X. The R3 will likely come in three drivetrain configurations: single-motor rear-wheel drive, dual-motor all-wheel drive, and a tri-motor all-wheel drive.
